Today I want to share my thoughts on a product I've been introduced to and genuinely interested in testing out: Catrin's Natural 100 Mineral Sunkill, which offers SPF 42 and PA ++, perfect for the spring and summer :)
I'm sure all of you are aware of the dangers of UV rays in terms to our skin. While sun protection is something that is ranked extremely important in Asian countries, I can't help but feel its lack of importance in the West. Not only will sun protection prevent skin cancer, but also will slow down the aging process of our skin! Here are some of the outcomes that come with a lack of protection from the sun (x):
- Photoaging (skin aging and wrinkling)
- Greater chance of genetic mutations that can lead to skin cancer
- Irritations from reddening/sun burn
- Reduced moisture barrier
Nestled in Memebox #7 is Catrin's Natural 100 Mineral Sun Kill which I'm personally interested in because it not only offers protection from UV rays, but also lightweight coverage and oil control due to it's mineral powder formulation :) It's SPF 42 PA ++ protects both the epidermis and hypodermis layers of the skin, fighting freckles caused by UVB rays and photoaging damage caused by UVA rays. I never took much effort into protecting my skin from the sun until recently when I discovered how its protection will aid in prolonging both youthful and supple skin without the worry of any developments of skin cancer.
A great thing about powder formulations/mineral makeup is that they're hypoallergenic and are great for all skin types, especially individuals with sensitive skin. Not only that, but the powder is also able to control oil- something I can really appreciate, especially in the upcoming warmer months where sweating and oilier complexions are unfortunately a given! Due to how lightweight powder foundations/makeup typically is, cleansing shouldn't require any added efforts as mineral makeup isn't meant to clog pores in the first place! Your everyday facial cleanser should work just fine :)
Another thing that really draws curiosity out of me is the unique application of this product. It's a sponge tip that deposits the powder onto the skin, an extra brush isn't needed. THIS right here is a huge factor as to why I think this product would be great for vacationing and on-the-go errands. It can act as your daily sun protectant and as your touch up for when you're feeling shiny- A 2 in 1 product!
