Visit here to read about my previous skincare routine I did last summer.. and how that has changed!
With spring comes the emphasis on skincare because no one wants to be caught with skin that doesn't reflect the freshness of the season! Today I'll be sharing what works for my skin, and if you have sensitive, acne-prone combination skin, then hopefully this post will introduce you to some products that could potentially help you target your skincare issues. :)
In the Morning:
My morning skincare is painfully simple, mostly because I don't want to over strip my skin of moisture- or add too much of it. I find that even if I use even the gentlest of cleansers in the morning, my skin always tends to overproduce sebum, and it gets even worse if I apply a moisturizer too. Instead I find that by personally using a "stronger" toner, or one that targets combination/oily skin, a happy balance is achieved.
Sun protection is always super important, so lately I've been testing out this one that I got from January's Memebox. It's nice as it smooths my skin out while providing just the littlest bit of moisture in a non-greasy way. So far, I'm loving it, especially because my skin usually breaks out in rashes from chemical sunscreens! :)

In the Evening:
The evening is where my skincare routine really takes place. I've fully converted myself to become one to double cleanse, especially since I wear either a BB cream or some concealer on most days. Removing it has become super easy and even enjoyable with a cleansing oil. I massage the oil into my skin before I hop into the shower. In the shower is where I usually cleanse my skin. I'm currently using one targeted for troubled skin, not because my skin has been acting out necessarily, but because after I've worked so hard in keeping it clear, I really want to prevent any future breakouts. I enjoy this one because it's almost minty so it's super refreshing, and it cleans without being overbearing and overly stripping.
- 1. Innisfree's Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil - purchased here. Review here.
- 2. Innisfree's Bija Anti-trouble Facial Foam - found here.
Depending on the condition of my skin, I use one of two toners. A specially compounded one prescribed by my dermatologist that targets blemished skin and aids in rejuvenation, or my everyday pore targeting one.
- 3. NeoStrata's Toner Solution Level 1- Found here
- 3a) Etude House's Wonder Pore Freshner 500mL - purchased here.
After toning, I usually follow up with a serum. I don't have much experience with other serums seeing how this is the only one I've tried but in ways, I do think that this one has helped with the sebum balance of my skin. I always find myself going back to this one specific moisturizer because everything new I try either breaks me out or supplies either too much or too less moisture. Some things are better left unchanged, I guess! I'm also new to the realm of eye creams but was excited to try this one out because it targets puffiness and dark spots. I'd like to thank Memebox for including this in their January box, haha.

The Additionals:
These additional products also depend on the condition of my skin, and usually consist of wash off masks or sheet masks. I try and do a mask twice a week, but usually it only comes down to being once.

Hi Catherine! :) I have oily-combo skin as well. So I'm using at least half of items that you're using here. hehe I was wondering about the Laneige Sleeping Pack working with your skin. Does it help with the oily part of your skin?

Hi Mira :)
DeleteI dont have any troubles with the sleeping pack over moisturizing my skin if that's what you're worried about! I usually only use it when my skin feels tight and drained so that's what I would suggest you to do too if you're thinking of purchasing it :)
So far, so good! No break outs or weird slick feeling skin so far
