Review: The Face Shop Face It Waterproof BB SPF 50+/PA+++ in 02 Natural Beige

Hello everyone, today I'll be reviewing my current favourite BB cream that I have in my collection. This review has kind of been long in the works as I've been trying to steer away from strictly review posts on this blog! Anyways, let's continue.

50 mL of product

First off, I got this BB cream from a physical The Face Shop store in my local mall and not online. I know for a fact that I did overpay for this product as I've seen in online for a much cheaper price. Ordering BB creams online is quite a dodgy process for me as I'm never sure if each brand's "Natural Beige" shade will really match me, so I decided to bite the bullet and fork over the $24 instead of the $16 online.

Good to use after 12 months of opening!
This BB cream claims to replenish moisture from within and provide perfect protection against any UV radiation while being able to withstand sebum. The Face Shop also claims that it's sweat-resistant formula is able to keep skin moisturized all day long.

The tube is quite conventional. It's not the typical squeeze tube applicator but instead the product flows out of a spout which makes sense since this BB cream is on the runnier end. There are many things I love about this product and the scent is one of them. I've been over this fact a million times, but I love anything that smells fresh and clean and this BB definitely falls under that category. I also really appreciate the high SPF and PA protection that this BB offers. Some days I get paranoid though, and I layer this over my own SPF 50 sunscreen.

thin, runny texture

I worry a lot when it comes to face makeup just because of my combination-oily and acne prone skin. I worried of what this product would do to my face since it's waterproof and sweat resistant capabilities sounded like it would clog my pores and lead to break outs. This is definitely not the case! This BB cream doesn't break me out and it classifies as my favourite one so far because of how matte I am through out the day- something that, in my experience, never happens with Korean BB creams unless I blot and touch up my face quite often. My friends have even noticed! I find that the coverage of this BB is medium-high and is buildable. I do think that it slightly seeps into any fine lines but my pores seem to look fine. This BB cream also doesn't transfer and become patchy through out the day.

semi + fully blended
I also find that I don't need a lot of this product to cover my entire face since the coverage of it is so great. I recommend dotting your face with this BB cream section by section or else it'll set too quickly and might leave an area where it has already sinked into your skin. Other than that, this blends pretty well since it's quite runny. (PS! Remember to shake this BB a few times before application!)

fully blended
The only thing that I'm not really digging about this BB cream is the whiteness that it leaves on my skin. I'm not sure if it's because of the SPF factor but I do find that if I 'over-apply' this then it'll leave my face super white in comparison to the rest of my body. It does slightly adjust to your skin tone over time but will still leave a white cast in some lighting. I just wish that this BB either came in more shades or adjusted better because the summer time is when people usually get tanned and when they want a sweat and water resistant BB cream!

Nonetheless, I love this BB cream and will most likely repurchase it after I'm done with the current tube I have. :) If you have any questions concerning anything at all, please leave them in the comments below and I'll do my best to answer them!

So, tell me, what are your favourite summer products to beat the heat and keep your makeup from melting off?

Thanks for reading! Until next time!
xo, Catherine
